Beira bring together roaring Scottish tunes and stunning songs in Gaelic, Scots and English.
They are- Caitln McNeill from Colonsay on guitar and vocals, Alana MacInnes from South Uist on pipes, flute and whistles, Shona Masson from Skye on fiddle and vocals and Fiona Black from Ross-Shire on accordion.
The band come together with a mutual appreciation of Gaelic music and each members individual heritage and play repertoire of lesser-known music form the Highlands and Islands and continue to create music inspired by this area.
WOVEN SOUNDS AND STORIES
Fiona has been in the process of researching traditions, sounds and stories relating to creation of fabric in the Scottish Highlands. All things related to weaving, spinning, wool, looms and much more are leading to new work created with Beira. This project will be launching in 2020.
